It all started in 2020, when a dear friend of mine Theresa Wright (nee: Llewellyn ) was diagnosed with two forms of cancer. She was open about her journey on social media and always remained positive no matter how bad things got.  I decided I wanted to do something to honour her positivity and courage.  I wanted to hold an event that would require participants to be courageous and be eager to step out of their comfort zone.  Skydiving was the answer.  Together, Theresa and I decided to work with a charity that supported children with cancer.  Kids Cancer Care founder and CEO Christine McIver was eager to work with us to make this crazy fundraiser a reality.  Thus, Jump for A Cure was born!  In 2020, we had such a successful inaugural skydiving fundraiser.  The skydivers (many who hadn’t jumped before) were filled with so much excitement.  The energy that everyone brought to the big day was incredible.  In year 2, we tripled the number of participants and raised over $20,000 for the charity.  This year we hope to exceed that amount.  The thrill of a skydive along with the knowledge that we were supporting such a crucial charity made it virtually impossible not to make this an annual event.  Over the past two years, I have learned so much about what children and their families must endure throughout their cancer journey.

I have heard so many success stories regarding the results Kids Cancer Care have accomplished in helping make the lives of children afflicted with cancer more bearable.
